KARACHI: (Special Correspondent) The 12th International Conference and Awards for Environment, Health and Security was held in Karachi in a grand manner. Experts, professionals and social figures from across the country participated in the event, while renowned religious scholar and preacher Maulana Azad Jameel attended as the Chief Guest. The respected scholar shared his insightful views on climate change, a sustainable future, and collective social responsibility.
Speaking at the conference, renowned religious scholar and preacher Maulana Azad Jameel said, “Islam teaches us that this universe is a trust from Allah, and protecting it is an act of worship for every Muslim. Planting trees, avoiding the wastage of water, and preventing air pollution are all forms of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity). The Holy Prophet (PBUH) declared cleanliness to be half of faith, making it clear 1400 years ago how deeply health and the environment are connected.”
In his address, Maulana Azad Jameel further stated, “The root cause of the environmental crisis we face today is ingratitude for Allah’s blessings and extravagance. To ensure a sustainable future, we must work on individual reform along with collective action. A healthy society is only possible when our environment is clean and our hearts carry a sense of responsibility to protect one another.”
The event was also attended by DG Foreign Affairs Muhammad Irfan Soomro, Saeedullah Wala, Dr. Jamal Raza, Kafeel Hussain, Dr. Imran Yusuf and other experts, who shared their views and made the conference more impactful. The speakers agreed that environmental challenges can only be effectively addressed by combining religious teachings with scientific research.
At the conclusion of the conference, the joint efforts and visionary leadership of organizers Mahmood Tareen and Atiq ur Rehman were highly appreciated.
