ADEN: Warplanes carried out airstrikes against Houthi targets in several Yemeni provinces on Thursday, while three explosions were reported in Al-Mukalla, the capital of eastern Hadramout province, according to Yemeni media and local sources.
Al-Jumhuriya Channel reported that one strike hit Houthi positions at Al-Hudaydah airport, while another targeted the group’s communications network at Jabal Bard in Kusmah district of Rima province. No casualties were immediately reported.
Yemen’s state-run Saba TV reported hearing three explosions in Al-Mukalla but said the cause and nature of the blasts remained unclear.
Separately, the 2 December news agency reported that warplanes struck a Houthi military camp in Yarim district of Ibb province.
Citing local sources, the agency said the camp included a platform used to launch ballistic missiles. The sources claimed the site had recently been used for missile attacks targeting Aden International Airport and other locations along Yemen’s western coast.
Hadramout is Yemen’s largest province by area and has important oil resources, ports and airports.
Yemen has remained in conflict since the Houthis seized Sanaa and other areas in 2014. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015 in support of the internationally recognized government.
