MIRPUR (AJK), October 30: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr Muhammad Najeeb Khan and AJK Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani in Islamabad on Friday to discuss regional development, public welfare, economic stability and measures to accelerate ongoing projects.
According to an official handout issued by the AJK government, Dar expressed confidence in the initiatives being undertaken by the AJK leadership and reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to extending full support for the development and prosperity of the region.
Federal Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry was also present at the meeting.
The discussions covered measures to promote tourism in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and expedite the completion of key road infrastructure projects. The AJK President and Prime Minister highlighted the need for greater federal support to speed up development initiatives and improve public services.
Dar reiterated the government’s resolve to strengthen its longstanding ties with the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed the importance of effective and result-oriented measures in line with the aspirations of the people.
The Deputy Prime Minister assured the AJK leadership of continued federal cooperation in ongoing development projects and initiatives aimed at improving the social and economic well-being of the people.
The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the federal government and the AJK administration to advance development and public welfare in the region.
