MIRPUR, Sept. 23: AKAB School for the Blind, Mirpur, achieved a 100 percent success rate in the AJK Board Intermediate Annual Examination 2026, with its students securing the top three positions within the institution despite visual impairment.
According to results announced by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Owais Tasleem led the school’s successful candidates with 908 marks, followed by Haider Ali with 807 marks and Samavia Rani with 703 marks.
The students appeared in the examination with the assistance of scribes in accordance with AJK Board rules.
The results reflected the determination, hard work and abilities of visually impaired students when provided with appropriate educational opportunities and support.
AKAB School for the Blind Patron-in-Chief Professor Muhammad Ilyas Ayub congratulated the students, teachers, parents and school administration on the outstanding results. He said parental encouragement and prayers played an important role in the students’ academic success.
He also thanked philanthropists for their continued support, saying their assistance was enabling the institution to provide better educational and training facilities to visually impaired children.
Professor Ilyas Ayub said education was a fundamental right of every child and providing quality educational opportunities to visually impaired children was a collective responsibility.
He said AKAB School for the Blind remained committed to providing visually impaired children not only with education but also opportunities to build self-confidence and earn a respectable place in society.
The school has maintained its strong academic tradition through its 100 percent success rate in the Annual Intermediate Examination 2026 conducted by the AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mirpur.
The achievement highlights the academic potential of visually impaired students when they receive appropriate educational facilities, support and encouragement.
