Beijing, March 29 – China’s civil aviation sector has introduced new flight schedules for the summer-autumn air transport season, with a slight increase in international flight services, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
The new aviation season, running from March 29 to Oct. 24, will involve domestic and international airlines operating approximately 121,000 passenger and cargo flights per week, a figure largely consistent with the same period last year.
A total of 191 domestic and foreign airlines will operate around 21,047 international flights weekly, representing a 1.8 percent increase compared to the previous year. The international flight network will cover 86 countries, with Cyprus newly added as a destination in the expanded schedule.
For domestic travel, 61 airlines are expected to operate 97,428 passenger flights and 2,538 cargo flights per week. Aviation authorities said the expansion will include 434 new domestic routes launched by 34 carriers, mainly connecting China’s northwest, northeast and southwest regions with eastern and central-southern parts of the country.
Officials said the new seasonal schedule aims to improve connectivity, support economic activity, and meet growing passenger and cargo demand across domestic and international markets.
