Egypt, Iran FMs Talk Regional De-escalation in Phone Call

Cairo, November 06 (QNA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has discussed the latest regional developments with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, amid concerns over the possibility of renewed military confrontations in the region.
The two ministers held a telephone conversation on Friday, during which they exchanged views on recent developments and their potential implications for regional and international security and stability, according to a statement from Egypt’s Foreign Ministry.
Abdelatty stressed the importance of prioritizing diplomatic solutions and urged all parties to demonstrate sufficient openness and flexibility to reach a political settlement to the crisis.
He also called for compromises that would take the interests of all sides into account and prevent the region from sliding into another wave of escalation.
The Egyptian foreign minister warned that further escalation could have serious political, economic and humanitarian consequences for the region and the wider world.
The call comes amid continued regional tensions and diplomatic efforts to prevent a further deterioration of the security situation.
