BRUSSELS, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) – Representatives from the European Union (EU), the United States and Ukraine will meet in Brussels on Wednesday to discuss Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction and economic recovery, the European Commission said Tuesday.
The meeting, hosted by the Commission, will also involve representatives from France, Germany, Britain, NATO and the World Bank.
European Commission Chief Spokesperson Paula Pinho said the discussions would build on earlier talks in Miami involving Ukrainian and US representatives, with the aim of achieving lasting peace in Ukraine.
NATO spokesperson Allison Hart also confirmed that alliance representatives would join officials from France, Germany, Britain and the United States for discussions in Brussels this week.
US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said American negotiators would discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe’s future security arrangements and economic opportunities to support reconstruction.
Meanwhile, Witkoff announced that the United States would mediate working-level talks between Ukraine and Russia on Nov. 10-11 in Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital.
The discussions are expected to cover post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian issues and further steps towards peace.
