DOHA, Qatar • 12 October 2026 – His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, led Qatar’s delegation to the 16th meeting of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity, which took place in the Saudi capital Riyadh as part of the “Riyadh Energy Week”.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance Arab regional cooperation in the electricity sector, the exchange of expertise, investment projects, and modern technologies for developing Arab energy infrastructure. The Arab ministers also reviewed a number of reports by specialized Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity committees on a number of issues including renewable energy, energy efficiency, a common Arab electricity market, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy for electricity generation and seawater desalination.
