TEHRAN, Nov. 3 (AA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday that Tehran continues dialogue with Saudi Arabia and supports regional security without foreign military presence.
In a statement on X, Araghchi said Iran had no hostility toward Gulf Cooperation Council countries and appreciated Qatar and Oman’s roles in promoting regional stability.
He said discussions with Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan focused on cooperation to address political, security and economic challenges. The four countries agreed to continue consultations at different levels.
Araghchi outlined a Qatari-mediated proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, saying Iran wanted sanctions relief, an end to the maritime blockade, access to frozen assets and reduced US military presence.
He confirmed indirect contacts with US envoys through Qatari mediation but denied any agreement on direct talks.
Araghchi said negotiations on reopening the Strait of Hormuz were separate from discussions on Iran’s nuclear programme.
Tehran said it remained open to diplomacy while warning it would respond to renewed military action.
