Pakistani squash legend Jansher Khan was honored with induction into the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the Hong Kong Football Club. The event coincided with the Hong Kong Squash Open (Dec 2–8). Jansher joined Malaysian icon Nicol David as the latest inductees, alongside inaugural members Susan Devoy and Jahangir Khan.
Jansher Khan’s illustrious career includes a record eight World Championship titles and six British Open wins. With 97 months as World No. 1 and 99 professional titles—the highest ever—he remains a cornerstone of squash’s golden era. Reflecting on his induction, Jansher expressed joy, highlighting his strong connection with Hong Kong, where he won eight Hong Kong Opens.
Nicol David, celebrated for her unprecedented 108-month reign as World No. 1 and eight World Championships, also received recognition. Since retiring, she has focused on empowering youth through her Nicol David Organisation, promoting education and sports. “Being inducted is a profound honor that makes me reflect on the journey and impact squash has had on my life,” she said.
PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough praised both legends, citing their indelible influence on the sport. Men’s World No. 1 Ali Farag described Jansher as the greatest squash player ever, while Women’s World No. 1 Nour El Sherbini lauded Nicol as a role model for players globally.
The induction celebrates Jansher and Nicol’s unmatched contributions, inspiring generations and shaping squash into a globally celebrated sport.
