AMMAN, Aug. 17 : Jordan looks forward to expanding cooperation with China in green energy, scientific innovation, tourism and civil aviation, King Abdullah II said Monday ahead of his visit to China.
In an exclusive interview, the king said China has become a major global economic and political force and a model for development and economic progress. He said Jordan hopes to further deepen its strategic partnership with China.
Since establishing a strategic partnership in 2015, bilateral cooperation has expanded into trade and investment, infrastructure, education, healthcare and cultural exchanges, he said.
King Abdullah II noted that thousands of Jordanians have benefited from Chinese government training programs between 2015 and 2025. Chinese energy investments have also contributed to Jordan’s efforts toward greater self-sufficiency and economic diversification.
He said Jordan’s strategic location, resources and skilled workforce, combined with China’s economic strength and technological expertise, offer opportunities to develop Jordan as a regional manufacturing and export hub.
The king also highlighted potential cooperation in the film industry and said Jordan could become a preferred filming destination for Chinese productions.
He further welcomed coordination with China on regional peace and efforts to advance a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue.
