DOHA, Qatar – Katara: The Katara Library of Arabic Novel, part of the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, hosted a book-signing ceremony on Tuesday morning for After Salvation by a Little, a short story collection by Ayesha Al Idrissi published by Katara Publishing House.
The event was attended by a number of intellectuals, writers and cultural enthusiasts, celebrating literary creativity and the human experience.
The collection explores a range of human and psychological themes through narratives examining people’s inner transformations and how life experiences shape their awareness and perceptions of themselves and the world around them.
The stories explore themes of survival, loss, change and self-discovery. Through their literary treatment, they go beyond events themselves to reflect on their psychological and human dimensions. They also raise questions about how people change after facing difficult experiences and what remains with them in their memories and emotions.
Khalid Al Mohannadi, Director of the Katara Library of Arabic Novel, said hosting literary book-signing events was part of the library’s efforts to support cultural activity, strengthen the presence of books and writers, and provide opportunities for direct interaction between authors and readers.
He added that short story collections were an important literary form capable of capturing human details and expressing the diversity of experiences and emotions.
Al Mohannadi said the library was keen to celebrate different narrative forms and encourage literary voices whose publications and creative perspectives enrich the cultural scene.
The signing ceremony forms part of Katara’s wider cultural efforts to support literary creativity, introduce new publications and strengthen the library’s role as a cultural space bringing writers and readers together.
These initiatives also contribute to enriching Qatar’s literary and cultural landscape.
