KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) — Malaysia Airlines is strengthening its presence in the Chinese market by signing three memoranda of understanding with Chinese technology companies.
The partnerships cover digital platforms, customer engagement and distribution, helping the airline connect more closely with platforms widely used by Chinese consumers.
Malaysia Airlines said the collaborations will make it easier for travelers to discover and book its services, obtain travel information and interact with the airline through familiar digital channels.
The initiatives form part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand its reach in China, improve connectivity and strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s role as a gateway between China and the wider region.
The airline reported strong demand across its China network, carrying more than 600,000 passengers in the first half of 2026, up 27 percent from the same period last year. Its average load factor reached 84 percent.
Malaysia Airlines expects to carry more than 52,000 passengers on China services during the upcoming Golden Week holiday, a 21 percent year-on-year increase.
