MIRPUR ( AJK): October 21: Mirpur district administration here on Wednesday intensified enforcement of traffic laws, taking legal action against violators to improve road safety and prevent accidents, it was officially said.
During a vehicle surprise inspection drive, Extra Assistant Commissioner and Revenue Officer Mirpur Raja Ayaz Ahmed took action against drivers violating traffic regulations, travelling without essential documents or valid driving licences, operating without route permits, and carrying passengers or goods beyond permitted capacity.
The violators were fined on the spot and warned to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations in future.
Speaking to media on the occasion, Raja Ayaz Ahmed said adherence to traffic laws was essential to protect the lives and property of citizens and prevent road accidents. He urged drivers to carry all necessary travel documents, valid driving licences and route permits, and avoid overloading vehicles with passengers or goods.
