MIRPUR ( AJK), October 20 ; Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Syed Imran Abbas Naqvi has directed mutton, beef and chicken sellers to strictly comply with official price lists, maintain proper hygiene and ensure the supply of quality meat to consumers at prescribed rates.
He issued these directions during a meeting with a representative delegation of meat sellers here onTuesday, stressing that official price lists must be prominently displayed at all shops and meat sold at government-fixed rates.
The deputy commissioner emphasised that strict adherence to government directives was essential to control prices and provide quality meat to consumers at affordable rates.
He said no compromise would be made on cleanliness at meat shops and markets, directing traders to maintain hygienic conditions in their shops and surrounding areas and observe all food safety and hygiene standards during the handling, storage and sale of meat.
The Deputy commissioner warned that legal action would be taken against traders for failing to display official price lists, charging prices above the prescribed rates or maintaining poor sanitation standards.
Naqvi said all available resources would be utilised to provide relief and maximum facilities to citizens, adding that market monitoring would continue to ensure compliance with official rates and maintain discipline.
