The agreement was signed during an online ceremony at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters in Islamabad between the customs administrations of both countries.
Pakistan’s delegation was led by Syed Shakeel Shah, Member (C-Ops), and included customs officials, representatives of the Department of Plant Protection, NAFSA, Pakistan Single Window, the Ministry of Commerce and Pakistan’s Commercial Counsellor in China.
The Chinese delegation was headed by Li Qingua, Deputy Head of Urumqi Customs and Director of Tashkurgan Customs.
Under the agreement, eligible agricultural consignments will receive priority processing and examination under risk-based controls. Both customs administrations will also strengthen information exchange and share risk alerts to improve coordination and border management.
The arrangement gives priority to perishable goods to reduce delays and ensure timely movement across the border.
The signing ceremony concluded with remarks by both delegations, reaffirming their commitment to stronger customs cooperation and trade facilitation.
The Green Channel is expected to establish a more efficient framework for trade in agreed agricultural products while supporting smoother cross-border movement and strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and China.
