ISLAMABAD, April 15: Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Tehran on Wednesday leading a high-level delegation as part of Islamabad’s continuing efforts to facilitate dialogue between the United States and Iran.
According to Pakistan’s military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation also includes Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and other senior officials engaged in diplomatic and security consultations.
Official sources said the visit is aimed at conveying key messages linked to ongoing diplomatic initiatives between Washington and Tehran as Pakistan steps up mediation efforts between the two countries.
The delegation reportedly includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, security institutions, and technical experts, highlighting the broad scope of the diplomatic engagement.
The visit comes amid renewed regional diplomacy following earlier talks hosted in Islamabad and continuing discussions regarding a possible next round of negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Pakistan has recently increased its diplomatic outreach in support of efforts to reduce tensions and promote dialogue between the two sides.
The Tehran visit reflects Islamabad’s expanding role in regional peace efforts as it seeks to help advance diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing tensions in the region.
