ISLAMABAD, Sept. 13 — Pakistan’s petrol price has reached Rs375.82 per litre while high-speed diesel (HSD) costs Rs403.32 per litre following the latest increase. The government continues to impose Rs114 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs100 per litre on diesel.
Saudi Arabia has shut its East-West oil pipeline after an aerial attack, raising concerns over further increases in global energy prices. Buyers and traders have warned that up to 4 per cent of global oil supply could be affected if the pipeline is not restored within days.
The International Energy Agency has warned that global oil supply and demand could fall further this year as delays in restoring normal Middle East oil flows extend into 2027.
Pakistan shifted to daily fuel price adjustments in July amid international market fluctuations following renewed Iran-US hostilities.
Before that, fuel prices were revised weekly from early March, while the government also announced targeted subsidised fuel relief measures in April.
HSD had peaked at Rs520.35 per litre on April 3, while petrol reached Rs458.41 per litre the same day
