The Brussels-based Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has urged the US Justice Department to arrest and prosecute an Israeli military commander it links to the 2024 killing of five-year-old Hind Rajab in Gaza.
The foundation said Sean Glass, who it reported is currently in the United States, commanded a company of the 52nd Armored Battalion, part of the 401st Armored Brigade. HRF said its investigation placed Glass and his troops near Hind’s vehicle when she was killed.
The group accused Glass of war crimes and genocide under US law, alleging he may have ordered troops to fire on the vehicle. HRF’s head of litigation, Natacha Bracq, called for an immediate investigation.
Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib supported the request, saying the US has obligations under international conventions to investigate alleged war crimes and genocide.
The US Justice Department did not immediately respond to Anadolu’s request for comment.
Hind was killed on Jan. 29, 2024, after the car carrying her and relatives came under Israeli fire. Two paramedics sent to rescue her were also killed. Their bodies were found 12 days later.
Forensic Architecture reported that 335 bullets were fired at the car and found no evidence of an exchange of fire.
