LAHORE, October 25: Pakistan secured a dramatic one-wicket victory over England in the ODI tri-series on Sunday, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten century by Shadab Khan and a determined final-wicket partnership with Haris Rauf at Gaddafi Stadium.

Chasing a target of 242, Pakistan reached 243 for nine in 47.1 overs after appearing close to defeat at 154 for nine. Shadab produced a remarkable innings of 113 not out from 96 balls, striking 13 fours and five sixes to turn the match around.

Haris Rauf provided crucial support at the other end, remaining unbeaten on seven as the pair added 89 runs for the final wicket. Their partnership rescued Pakistan from a seemingly hopeless position and sealed one of the most exciting finishes of the tournament.

Earlier, England were bowled out for 241 in 46.4 overs after Pakistan elected to field. Ben Duckett led England’s batting with 105 from 111 deliveries, while Sam Curran contributed 42 runs.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi led the bowling attack, claiming four wickets for 46 runs. His early breakthroughs put England under pressure, although Duckett’s century helped the visitors recover from their difficult start.

Pakistan’s batting struggled during the chase as England repeatedly took wickets. However, Shadab remained composed under pressure and guided his team to victory.

The win confirmed Pakistan’s place in the tri-series final, strengthening their position ahead of their remaining league match against Sri Lanka on October 27.

Result: Pakistan 243/9; England 241 all out. Pakistan won by one wicket.
