UNITED NATIONS: U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday as world leaders gathered amid continuing conflicts, economic pressures and growing international tensions.
Trump’s appearance came as the war involving Iran remained a major concern for governments across the region, while the Russia-Ukraine conflict continued without a settlement.
The U.S. president was also expected to highlight his administration’s foreign policy priorities and efforts to address international conflicts during his address.
The UN gathering comes at a time of heightened concern over global energy markets, artificial intelligence, climate-related challenges and the future of international cooperation.
Trump was scheduled to meet several world leaders on the sidelines of the General Assembly, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other leaders from Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Gulf.
