Pakistan has recalled leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed for the second and final Test against Bangladesh, following their disappointing performance in Rawalpindi last week. The decision to rely solely on a pace attack on a slow pitch proved costly, leading to Pakistan’s first-ever Test defeat against Bangladesh.

In the series opener, Pakistan’s pacers struggled to make an impact on the sluggish surface, while Bangladesh’s spinners, Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, combined to take seven crucial wickets. This dominant performance secured a historic 10-wicket victory for Bangladesh.

Abrar Ahmed, who has taken 38 wickets in just six Tests, has been brought back into the squad to strengthen Pakistan’s spin options. Joining him is uncapped spin-bowling all-rounder Kamran Ghulam. Additionally, all-rounder Aamer Jamal has been recalled, though his inclusion in the final lineup will depend on fitness clearance, according to a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The final Test of the series, also to be held in Rawalpindi, is set to begin on Friday. Pakistan will be aiming to bounce back and avoid a series defeat with this revised squad.
