On the third day of the second Test in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh staged a remarkable recovery after a disastrous start against Pakistan. Resilient performances by Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz turned the tide after Bangladesh’s top order collapsed to 26 for 6. Litton Das scored a crucial 138, marking his first Test century in over two years. He was supported by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who added 78 runs, helping Bangladesh reduce their deficit to just 12 runs with a 165-run partnership.

Pakistan’s Khurram Shahzad dominated with the ball, claiming 6 for 90, including five early wickets that left Bangladesh reeling. Despite his heroics, Litton and Mehidy’s partnership ensured Bangladesh remained competitive.

In response, Pakistan’s second innings got off to a shaky start. Hasan Mahmud, fresh off his batting performance, struck twice to leave Pakistan at 9 for 2, with a slim lead of 21 runs as the day ended. Saim Ayub remained at the crease, facing the challenge of building a substantial lead on a bowler-friendly pitch.

With two days left, the match is finely balanced, with Pakistan aiming to set a challenging target and Bangladesh looking to capitalize on their momentum to push for a series win.
