Kashmir Net Masters triumph over Sindh Hitmen to become champions of 6th Edition Sohni Dharti Volleyball Championship

Kashmir Net Masters led by Umar Khayyam won the grand finale of 6th edition of volleyball tournament organized by Sohni Dharti forum at Al-Khor community. Kashmir Net-Masters clashed Sindh Hitmen in the grand finale, held on October 4 at Al Nakheel club, Al Khor Community. Kashmir Net Masters , the favorite between the two, provided the fact they won most of their matches at the league stage and beat KPK Smashers , one of the tournament strong contenders in the semifinal. Sindh Hitmen on the other hand played really well in the final however Kashmir Net Masters won the match 2-0. Both teams showed wonderful skills, determination, grit and sportsmanship.

There was a total of five teams, Punjab Six Packs, Sindh Hitmen, KPK Smashers, Baluchistan Safe Sets and Kashmir Net Masters. The five teams were led by Waseem Butt, Ghulam Farid, Jawad Akbar, Imran Khattak and Umar Khayyam respectively. Over 75 players participated in the championship. The championship played on double league with every team playing eight matches at the league stages. Kashmir beat KPK while Sindh beat Baluchistan in their respective semifinal games to make their way into the final.

In a prize distribution ceremony held post final match, legendary Mr. Khalid Akbar, the brand ambassador of the championship presented with a special shield. Muhammad Usman of Kashmir Net Masters awarded with the best Net-man award whereas Muhammad Farooq Qaisrani won The best player of the tournament award. Apart from individual awards, 3 players from each team were recognized and awarded with the most dedicated player award. Winning and runner-up teams players were also given individual awards and trophies. All captains, members of technical committee and other volunteers were given away trophies as a token of appreciation for their dedication in organizing such a wonderful tournament. Some of the attractive prizes and gift hampers were given away to the spectators as well.
Renowned community leaders and guests were invited to witness the final match and to give away the prizes. The honourable Mr. Muhammad Waqas Malik (country manager Pakistan International Airline) grace the event with his kind presence. Mr. Anwar Ali Rana, team Sohni Dharti and many renown community leaders and respected members were among the other dignitaries on the subject occasion.

Tournament attracted scores of spectators not only into the volleyball court but hundreds of viewers on Facebook live streaming. Players, spectators, community members and chief guests appreciated and acknowledged the efforts Sohni Dharti Sports Secretary Mr. Zafar Chandio for his dedication and other volunteers associated to the tournament for putting up the extra ordinary efforts to conclude the tournament and a healthy sports activity on a high note.
In the closing remarks, all the chief guests were of high praise of Sohni Dharti team and Sports secretary for all the hard work been put into the journey of this successful tournament. Chairman Sohni Dharti Mr. Anwar Ali Rana before concluding the prize distribution ceremony, stressed the importance of sports and physical fitness in our daily life. He conveyed his gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation to all the team captains, players, volunteers, spectators, Sports secretary, and all the chief guests.
There were refreshments arrangements and served to all the team players and spectators. The event concluded with the chants of Dil Dil Pakistan and Pakistan Zindabad slogans.
