Gaza, November 13 (QNA) – Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya has called on the world to intervene to open humanitarian corridors to bring medical delegations into the northern Gaza Strip and facilitate the movement of patients and the injured, pointing out that the Israeli occupation forces continue to besiege the hospital amid harsh conditions experienced by the medical staff and the injured.
The hospital director said, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the occupation forces were still preventing the entry of medicines and food into the hospital despite all the appeals sent to the world to intervene to provide protection and care for the patients, denouncing the world’s inability and failure to move to bring ambulances into the northern Gaza Strip instead of those destroyed by the occupation forces.
He added that hospital staff cannot reach the wounded, explaining that the homes of the wounded have turned into graves for them because they were not rescued and remained for hours and days under the rubble without anyone to transport them to hospitals due to the occupation’s disruption of the rescue and ambulance system.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya pointed out, at the end of his statement to QNA, that all three hospitals in northern Gaza are subjected to a complete siege and that international health institutions must intervene to save the health sector, stressing that the occupation targets the hospital daily with bombs and shells, and many doctors have lost their families and relatives while they were on the job.
The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the northern Gaza Strip for the fortieth consecutive day, which has led to the martyrdom of more than 2,000 citizens, the injury of thousands of others, and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis due to the lack of food supplies and medicines.
