Islamabad, November 22 (QNA) – Three militants were killed by Pakistani army fire in a military operation that took place Friday in Banun district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwest of the country.
The Pakistani army said in a statement that its special forces carried out a security operation after receiving accurate intelligence information about the location of militants in Banun district, noting that after an intense exchange of fire between the two sides, three militants were killed, and weapons, ammunition and explosives were confiscated.
It added that its special forces will continue their operations to pursue and thwart attempts at what it called “sabotage, stability and progress in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province”.
The death toll of the armed attack that targeted a group of buses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan last Thursday, has risen to 42 dead and more than 30 wounded.
