Gaza death toll rises to 44,235 amid ongoing Israeli strikes

The death toll in Gaza has reached 44,235, with 24 more Palestinians killed in recent Israeli attacks, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry on Monday.

The ministry reported over 104,600 injuries since the onslaught began in October last year. In the past 24 hours, Israeli forces carried out two deadly assaults, killing 24 people and injuring 71 others. Rescue efforts remain hampered, with many victims trapped under rubble or stranded in inaccessible areas.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding a cease-fire, the Israeli military has continued its campaign against Gaza, which began following a Hamas attack last year.

International condemnation has intensified, with growing recognition of what has been labeled genocide in Gaza. Human rights organizations and global leaders have accused Israel of systematically targeting civilians.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) recently issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.

The situation remains dire as calls for accountability and an end to hostilities grow louder globally.
