Saim Ayub’s explosive century led Pakistan to a resounding 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI at Queens Sports Club, leveling the three-match series on Tuesday.
Chasing a modest target of 146, Pakistan sealed the win in just 18.2 overs without losing a wicket. Saim’s unbeaten 113 off 53 balls showcased his attacking prowess, as he smashed the Zimbabwean bowlers to all parts of the ground. Partner Abdullah Shafique played a steady role, contributing 32 not out.
Earlier, Zimbabwe struggled after opting to bat first. Abrar Ahmed’s impressive 4-33 and Salman Ali Agha’s 3-26 dismantled the hosts, who were bundled out for 145 in 32.3 overs. Dion Myers top-scored with 33, but Zimbabwe’s batters failed to capitalize on their starts.
The dominant performance marked a strong comeback for Pakistan following their 80-run defeat in the rain-affected first ODI.
The decisive third match will take place on Thursday in Bulawayo before the teams shift focus to the three-match T20 series.
