Pakistan secured a dominant 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, sealing the T20 series with an outstanding all-around performance. Wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem delivered a career-best performance, taking five wickets for just three runs as Zimbabwe collapsed to 57 all out in 12.4 overs.
Openers Saim Ayub (36*) and Omair Yousuf (22*) chased down the target effortlessly, reaching 61 without loss in just 33 balls. This win followed Pakistan’s 57-run triumph in the first match, completing a white-ball double after their 2-1 ODI series victory.
Pakistan skipper Salman Agha praised the team’s execution, highlighting Muqeem’s sensational bowling. “Our young players are performing brilliantly, which is very encouraging,” he said.
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza expressed concern over his team’s recurring mistakes. Despite a promising 37-run opening partnership from Brian Bennett (21) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (16), Zimbabwe lost all 10 wickets for just 20 runs, undone by Muqeem’s spin mastery.
Raza himself managed only three runs before being bowled by Abbas Afridi, continuing Zimbabwe’s batting woes. Pakistan’s bowlers were relentless, ensuring no batter other than the openers reached double figures.
Ayub and Yousuf ensured a swift and commanding finish, striking 10 boundaries, including a four by Ayub that sealed the victory.
Pakistan will conclude the series against Zimbabwe on Thursday before heading to South Africa for an eight-match tour, including two Tests.
