Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, distributed Rs10 million cheques on Friday to the families of two PTI workers who lost their lives during the D-Chowk protests. According to Express News, Bushra Bibi visited Charsadda on a brief trip and met with the families of the two workers who died during the protest in Islamabad. She paid tribute to the sacrifices made by PTI workers and expressed her condolences to the grieving families. Furthermore, Bushra Bibi announced the establishment of a girls’ high school in memory of the deceased worker, Tajuddin, in recognition of his contribution to the PTI movement. During her visit, she expressed her displeasure over claims made by party leaders that she abandoned the workers during the D-Chowk protest on November 24. According to reports, Bushra Bibi accused senior party leaders of fleeing the scene, leaving her behind with the party workers. She further criticised PTI leaders for making statements accusing her of abandoning the protesters and announced that action would be taken against them. Reports say that Bushra Bibi also revealed her frustration with some senior leaders who had blamed her for the protest’s failure and claimed that she left the workers alone. She stated that, contrary to these accusations, all the senior leaders had disappeared from the scene while she remained present with the party workers. She expressed her intention to take strict action against these leaders, and reports suggest that any such leaders would face disciplinary measures after approval from the founding chairman, Imran Khan. “I am not someone who abandons others. I would never leave those who came out in support of Khan. No one knew which car was mine. At D-Chowk, I remained in my car alone until 12:30 am,” she said. “Many cars had arrived because people were forcibly removed from D-Chowk. I stayed behind because Khan hadn’t instructed me to leave. I had told everyone not to leave me, but eventually, I was left alone. I was completely by myself.” Earlier, sources claim that Bushra Bibi had reportedly instructed all senior party leaders to ensure their presence at D-Chowk during the protest and to avoid disappearing after photo sessions. However, sources claim that while Bushra Bibi and the workers remained at D-Chowk, the senior leaders were notably absent. In the aftermath of the protest, some senior leaders of the party claimed that Imran Khan had directed the protest to take place in Singjani instead of D-Chowk. However, Bushra Bibi and the Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur decided to proceed with the D-Chowk protest. Following incidents of arrests and shootings at D-Chowk, some leaders blamed Bushra Bibi and others for fleeing the scene and leaving the workers behind. Bushra Bibi is reportedly not only upset with these leaders but is also refusing to meet them.
