Doha, December 10 (QNA) – His Excellency the Minister of Culture, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, officially inaugurated Qatar National Day 2024 celebrations at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal. Held annually on December 18, this year’s events span December 10-18, showcasing Qatar’s rich culture and heritage.
The opening ceremony was attended by ministers, ambassadors, and officials, alongside citizens and residents eager to experience the vibrant cultural and patrimonial atmosphere. HE the Minister of Culture and esteemed guests toured various pavilions and exhibits, highlighting Qatar’s historical and cultural identity.
Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, emphasized Darb Al Saai as a prominent symbol of national pride, fostering a connection between Qatar’s legacy and its future. The celebrations feature 15 main events and 104 sub-events, blending cultural, heritage, recreational, and educational activities.
Key attractions include the Qatari House, Desert Museum, Puppet Theater, and the Al-Azbah, alongside art exhibits, theatrical performances, poetry evenings, and children’s plays. Musical operettas, symposiums, and interactive activities, such as “Melody and Story,” further enrich the experience.
Darb Al Saai spans 150,000 square meters, equipped with top-tier facilities, 80 shops, 30 restaurants, and five traditional games. Open daily from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, the venue offers an immersive cultural journey, ensuring comfort and engagement for all visitors.
The Ministry of Culture aims to celebrate Qatar’s heritage while promoting unity and national pride, envisioning a bright future under visionary leadership.
