KARACHI, January 6. /Dunyo IA/. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Diners Group company, an official opening ceremony was held in Karachi for the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Trade House “UzbekPak International Trading Centre” and the “UzbekPak Cultural Centre,” reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event commenced with the national anthems of Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Following this, Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev planted a “tree of friendship” on the premises of the cultural center.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of Karachi’s business community, heads of export-import companies, business leaders, and tourism industry professionals.

Speaking at the event, Sohail Moten, the head of Diners Group, emphasized that the trade house and cultural center would enhance regional connectivity between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, expand mutual trade, and provide essential information for investors.

“The trade houses established in Karachi and Tashkent will operate as permanent exhibition pavilions, raising awareness of the industrial products of both countries. We are confident this initiative will significantly boost the share of mutual trade items in the export and import portfolios of Pakistan and Uzbekistan,” said Sohail Moten.

In his address, Ambassador of Uzbekistan highlighted the efforts of the country’s leadership and government to elevate bilateral relations, sustain the current momentum in trade and economic ties, and further strengthen cultural exchange.

“The Trade House will bring our peoples and national economies closer together. It will serve as a foundation for the effective implementation of high-level agreements, enriching our trade relations with new items and increasing the bilateral trade turnover to $1 billion,” the diplomat noted.

Shahzad Arshad, head of TechSol, also shared his thoughts during the event. He stated that the Trade House and Cultural Center would provide a robust platform for deepening regional ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, marking a significant step towards modern solutions in trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian domains.

The Trade House features samples of Uzbekistan’s industrial products, including textiles, yarn, wool, leather, plastic granules, and dried fruits.

During the ceremony, videos showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourist attractions—Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Tashkent—along with the country’s industrial and investment potential, were displayed on a large screen at the venue.
