The European Union has unveiled a €120 million aid package to provide crucial support for Gaza, emphasizing its ongoing commitment to assisting Palestinians.
The aid will cover essential needs such as food, healthcare, clean water, hygiene, sanitation, shelter, and protection. With this package, the EU’s total humanitarian aid contribution since 2023 exceeds €450 million.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that while a potential ceasefire and hostage release deal brings “desperately needed” hope, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza remains severe.
The draft agreement outlines that aid deliveries will be prioritized in its initial phases, with later stages focusing on the rebuilding of Gaza. This initiative reflects the EU’s dedication to alleviating suffering and supporting long-term recovery in the region.
