Washington, January 19 (QNA) – Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday during an official inauguration ceremony at the US Capitol.
The event, commencing at 9:30 am (local time) on the Capitol’s West Lawn, will feature the constitutional oath-taking by President-elect Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Trump will then deliver his inaugural address, presenting his vision and goals for the next four years. Following the address, he will sign official documents in the President’s Room and attend a traditional luncheon hosted by Congress. The day will conclude with a ceremonial procession to the White House and three major inaugural events.
In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), Professor Jonathan McKenzie of Georgetown University highlighted the ceremony as a testament to American democracy, showcasing the peaceful transfer of power amid political and social challenges. Similarly, political analyst Michael Wright emphasized that Trump’s speech is expected to convey messages of unity, addressing years of national tensions.
Dr. Susan Harris, a constitutional expert, stressed the significance of adhering to Article 20 of the Constitution, which mandates the orderly transfer of power at noon, symbolizing the country’s enduring democratic values.
Approximately 200,000 attendees, including politicians, former presidents, and key public figures, are expected to witness the event. Outgoing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are set to attend, along with prominent figures from the technology sector such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg.
