Kuwait, February 07 (QNA) – The State of Qatar participated in the 9th Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Committee for Food Safety, which took place in the State of Kuwait.
The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by HE Minister of Public Health Mansour bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud.
The meeting discussed a number of topics, most notably the GCC unified food law, the GCC guide for control on imported foods, the GCC center for food risk assessment, and new foods.
The meeting also discussed the development of a food safety policy document for the GCC countries, the assessment of food control systems among the GCC countries as a condition for inter-exchange between them, and the mechanism for imposing and lifting the ban on the import of food of animal origin and its products.
