Saudi, Lebanon stress stronger Arab action on key issues

Riyadh, March 04 (QNA) – Saudi Arabia and Lebanon underscored the importance of enhancing the Arab action and coordinating postures toward the critical issues on the regional and global stages.
In a joint statement following the conclusion of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s visit to Saudi Arabia, both sides emphasized the importance of the full implementation of the Taif Agreement and relevant international resolutions, ensuring the assertion of sovereignty over all Lebanese territories and the confinement of weapons to the Lebanese state.
They emphasized the national role of the Lebanese Army and the importance of supporting it, in addition to the necessity of the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from all Lebanese territories.
The two parties agreed to study the hiccups facing the resumption of exports from Lebanon to Saudi Arabia and take the essential measures to allow Saudi citizens to travel to Lebanon.
They underlined the importance of revitalizing the Lebanese economy and overcoming its current crisis, in addition to initiating the internationally required reforms in accordance with the principles of transparency and enforcing the binding laws.
