Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, has strongly criticized the United States for undermining the global order. Speaking at a conference in London, Zaluzhnyi accused the US of contributing to the disruption of the world order, alongside Russia’s attempts to revise it. He expressed concerns over the shifting stance of the Trump administration, particularly in its handling of foreign policy and relations with Moscow.
His comments come in the wake of rising tensions between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump. A recent fallout between the two leaders, following a heated meeting in the Oval Office, has prompted Ukraine to seek better relations with Washington. However, Zaluzhnyi’s remarks suggest lingering dissatisfaction with US actions, including the suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
Zaluzhnyi pointed out that the US seemed to be making concessions to Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin, and warned that NATO’s existence could be jeopardized by this shift. He also raised alarm over the US-Russia talks, which excluded Ukraine and European representatives.
While President Zelensky aims to end the war in Ukraine quickly, concerns remain that the US could make significant concessions to Moscow without securing adequate safety guarantees for Ukraine.
