Beijing, April 03 (QNA) – The Chinese and U.S. militaries concluded the 2025 annual meeting of the Military Maritime Consultative Agreement (MMCA) Working Group today in Shanghai.
In a statement, the Chinese Navy said both sides conducted a constructive assessment of the security situation in the maritime and aerial domains and discussed measures to enhance maritime military safety between the two countries.
The Chinese side emphasized that the safety of naval ships and aircraft is closely tied to national security.
It pointed out that U.S. military ships and aircraft conduct extensive reconnaissance, surveys, and exercises in the maritime and aerial areas surrounding China, which could lead to misunderstandings and miscalculations, thereby endangering China’s sovereignty and military security.
The Chinese Navy affirmed that the Chinese military will continue to safeguard the country’s territorial sovereignty and protect its maritime rights and interests.
