MIRPUR ( AJK): April 24 : The High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the Azad Jammu Kashmir government to appoint the President of Bank of Azad Jammu Kashmir within next two months as per the rules and regulations.
One-member bench of the learned High Court of AJK comprising Mr. Justice Syed Shahid Bahar issued these orders on a writ petition titled “Muhammad Ayub Khan v/s AJK Government” seeking due relief through induction of the top slot of the public-sector Bank of AJK, running under the control of the AJK State government.
According to the details, the Azad Jammu Kashmir government had recently issued an advertisement inviting applications for the appointment of the President against vacant position online the Bank of Azad Jammu Kashmir. In response to the advertisement, one Muhammad Ayub Khan son of Gul Hassan Khan, a resident of Halan Shamali Tehsil of Haveli District (Forward Kahuta), a remote village of Poonch division in Azad Jammu Kashmir, applied for appointment since he emerged as the only candidate who fulfilled all the rules and regulations besides certain other candidates (allegedly favorites to the big wigs) including non-state subjects candidates.
The petitioner, in his petition, prayed that despite fulfilling all the rules and regulations, some influential circles in AJK ruling elite and other authorotative quarters allegedly tried to appoint their favorite candidate, against the petitioner Muhammad Ayub Khan a local (AJK resident) candidate, what he asserted, eligible for the office under prevailing rules and regulations.
The petitioner Muhammad Ayub further contended in hus writ petition filed in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court, presenting all the facts before the honourable AJK High court.
Judge of the learned AJK High Court Justice Syed Shahid Bihar heard the case, who carefully listened to the positions of the parties.
The learned AJK High court, while accepting the petitioner’s position, has ordered that the government of AJK should make appointment within two months as per the rules and regulations and include all the candidates who applied in response to the advertisement.
The petitioner was represented by renowned lawyer Raja Muhammad Arif Rathore Advocate, while Khawaja Ansar Ahmed Advocate, Legal Advisor to the Finance Division of AJK Government, Chaudhry Altaf Kasana Advocate, appeared on behalf of the State and other defendents.
