Antalya, April 30 (QNA) – The Shura Council took part in the Joint Seminar of the Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group (GSM) and the Economics and Security Committee (ESC) of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The three-day event took place in Antalya, Turkiye, and concluded on Wednesday.
HE Member of the Shura Council Ahmad bin Ebrahim Al Malki and HE Member of the Shura Council Issa bin Arar Al Rumaihi represented the council at the seminar.
The seminar addressed developments in the Middle East and the African Sahel regions, their ramifications on NATO and the region, the impact of wars on food security, conflicts and instability in the African Sahel region, human security, violent extremism, immigration, and so forth.
On the margins of this event, the Shura Council’s delegation separately met with HE Head of the Turkish Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mevlut Cavusoglu and HE Chairperson of the Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group (GSM) Fernando Gutierrez.
The meetings deliberated on a range of topics related to strengthening the collaborative relationship and joint parliamentary coordination, in addition to sharing perspectives on the issues laid out on the seminar’s agenda.
