Toastmasters International – District 116 (Qatar) is all set to host its flagship event, the District Annual Conference 2025 (DTAC 2025), themed “Inspire, Influence, Impact”, on the 23rd and 24th of May 2025.

For those new to this community, Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. Headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, the organization boasts over 300,000 members across 15,800+ clubs in 149 countries. Since 1924, it has transformed countless lives through the power of communication.

Where does Qatar fit into this global framework? Toastmasters is divided into Regions, further broken into Districts, many spanning multiple countries. Yet, Qatar stands tall as a standalone District – District 116 – recognized not only for its independent stature but also for having once been ranked the #1 District in the world. This success has been driven by the dedicated efforts of its members, fostering leadership and communication excellence.

Each District is led by a District Trio – the District Director, Program Quality Director, and Club Growth Director. The current torchbearers of District 116 are Sabeena M K, DTM, Alarmel Mangai DTM, and Sherwin Olimpo, respectively.

So, what is DTAC?
It is the annual gathering of the Toastmasters fraternity – a celebration of learning, leadership, and legacy. It is led this year by DTAC Chair Hamad Mohsen Al Yafei and Co-Chair Manzoor Moideen, DTM.

Over the course of two power-packed days at Holiday Inn, Old Airport Road, DTAC 2025 will feature:

• Electrifying keynote speeches from global icons like
– “Leadership, Reality or Myth!” by Mohamad Murad, DTM, Past International President, and
– “Lead with Voice, Inspire with Presence” Ramona J. Smith, World Champion of Public Speaking 2021
• District-level English contests: Evaluation, Humorous, Table Topics, and International Speech
• Leadership recognition ceremonies for 2023–24 and 2024–25
• Enriching education sessions and workshops conducted by renowned trainers
• Gala dinner & entertainment on Day 1 at Crowne Plaza Doha
• Multilingual prize distributions and celebration of cultural diversity
• Installation of the new District Leadership Team for 2025–26

This event is not only about contests and ceremonies. It is about the power of transformation — to learn from peers, recognize excellence, and groom the next generation of leaders.
