ANKARA/ISTANBUL – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation with Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi on Wednesday to discuss Israel’s ongoing attacks on Iran, Turkish diplomatic sources confirmed.
The call comes amid escalating regional tensions following Israel’s strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites last Friday, which triggered a series of retaliatory attacks by Tehran.
So far, over 585 people have been reported killed and more than 1,300 injured in Iran due to the Israeli strikes. In response, Iranian missile attacks have killed at least 24 and wounded hundreds in Israel, according to Israeli authorities.
No additional details were disclosed about the content of the discussion between the two ministers.
Both Turkey and Jordan have expressed concern in recent days about the widening conflict and its potential impact on regional stability.
The situation remains fluid, with international calls growing for restraint and diplomatic solutions
