Ankara, June 19 (QNA) – The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states are set to discuss the Israeli aggression against Iran and its repercussions for peace and security in the Middle East during their 51st Council meeting slated for Saturday and Sunday in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that more than 40 foreign ministers are expected to attend the meeting, which will be held at a critical time due to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Iran since last Friday.
The ministry noted that approximately 1,000 participants from the 57 member states, the OIC’s affiliated institutions, observer states, and other international organizations will participate in the Council meeting, which will be chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
OIC was established at the Rabat Summit on September 25, 1969, in response to the Israeli burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem
