MIRPUR ( AJK): June 22: International Kashmiri political analyst, former AJK government Adviser Mr Hameed Shaheen Alvi says Pakistan’s initiative to recommend a Nobel Peace Prize for US President Donald Trump reflects Pakistan’s status as a global peace promoter. In recognition of President Donald Trump’s role on May 10, 2025 exacting cessation of the raging war between Pakistan and India the government of Pakistan initiated recommendations for award of globally coveted Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump.

This gives new orientation to Pakistan-US ties for working together in cultivating regional as well as global peace and security, Alvi added.

Talking to this Correspondent here Saturday Mr Alvi said that given full diplomatic vigour the resolution of the basic cause of Pakistan-India tension, the unresolved UN-listed dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, can be reached with equanimity. UN by listing Kashmir as a dispute on January 1st, 1948 becomes an all time party to this imbroglio, he asserted.

“It was the wiser part of diplomacy pushed to work by US President Trump on May 10, 2025 Indo-Pakistan war that a ceasefire acknowledged by the whole international community of countries had gone into effect. A similar Israel-Iran ceasefire push by the President of the United States can work to a sure success”, Alvi hoped.
