President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said that the day is not far away when the sacred blood of the Kashmiri martyrs will bear fruits and the people of Kashmir would achieve their cherished goal of freedom .In his message issued on the ninth martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Muzaffar Wani, the president said, ” Shaheed Burhan Wani is the eminent icon of the Kashmiris’ resistance movement”.

“The torch of freedom Burhan Wani has lit with his blood is illuminating the entire Valley today”, the president said in a statement issued on the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of the veteran hero of the Kashmir freedom struggle. observed on Tuesday.

Terming Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement as a legitimate struggle, the president said that martyrdom of Burhan Wani not only exposed Indian propaganda but also proved that their struggle is indigenous in nature.Lauding the Kashmiris’ matchless sacrifices and their unwavering commitment to the noble cause of freedom, the president expressed the hope that blood of Kashmiri martyrs will not go in vain.

Stressing the need for early and amicable settlement of the longstanding Kashmir dispute, Barrister Chaudhry said that India needs to realize that the genuine freedom movements with a massive support base cannot be suppressed by the use of force.

While denouncing the Indian government’s policies of oppression and suppression, the president called for implementation of the UNSC resolutions to get the long running dispute resolved peacefully in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He said that it was high time that the global community must play its proactive role to help Kashmiri people secure their birth right guaranteed to them under multiple UN resolutions.
