Doha, July 17 (QNA) – HE Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya,” and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani attended Thursday the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Master’s Program in Security Leadership and Command at the College of Graduate Studies of the Police Academy.
The ceremony was attended by several heads and commanders of military and security agencies in the country.
During the ceremony, which featured a visual presentation that reviewed the program’s objectives and the educational and training stages undertaken by the first batch, His Excellency presented certificates to the graduates. Director of the Operations Department at the General Directorate of the Coasts and Borders Security Staff Major (Navy) Hassan Ahmed Al Sulaiti won first place in the overall score and first place in joint security operations planning.
In his speech marking the occasion, Director of the College of Graduate Studies of the Police Academy Colonel Dr. Abdullah Thamer Al Enezi emphasized that the program represented a pivotal step in building and qualifying senior security leaders. Its curricula were carefully designed to enhance officers’ ability to analyze complex situations, exercise command and control during crises, and manage joint security operations. This was achieved through specialized academic courses, field experiments, and internal and external visits to identify the best international practices in operational decision-making. He indicated that the College of Graduate Studies will work on the continuous development of this program by updating its curricula and expanding its partnerships to keep pace with cognitive and technical developments.
For his part, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department Colonelآ Nawafآ Mohammed Al Otaibi delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates, highlighting that the program was a milestone in the participants’ professional careers, providing them with advanced scientific content and practical field experiences. He emphasized that graduation represents the beginning of a new phase of dedication to serving the nation and enhancing its security and stability.
The Master’s Program in Security Leadership and Command is a unique academic program that aims to prepare security and military leaders with strategic competence and high operational readiness, keeping pace with the changing concept of comprehensive security in the country. The first batch included a select group of highly qualified individuals from various military and security agencies, who underwent an advanced educational experience that blends deep strategic knowledge with practical experience, within the framework of an advanced executive educational environment.
The program falls within the Ministry of Interior’s strategic framework for developing leadership structures, enhancing officers’ capabilities in analyzing and assessing security situations and managing crises effectively, activating concepts of joint security work, and developing coordination mechanisms between various stakeholders. It includes courses in public administration, scientific research methodology, security leadership, the legal framework for security work, national and international security, crisis management, managing major events and activities, and joint security operations. It also includes meetings, lectures, and field visits, both internally and externally, to numerous security, military, and strategic institutions and bodies.
At the conclusion of the program, participants presented their master’s research theses, which were discussed and evaluated by a group of academics and experts in the security and strategic fields, reflecting the scientific and practical maturity attained by the participants.
