Jerusalem / Beirut, The Israeli military carried out two separate airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Saturday, killing two Hezbollah militants, according to Israeli and Lebanese sources.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the death of Ahmad Muhammad Salah, described as the head of Hezbollah’s Yohmor outpost. The IDF stated that Salah was actively working to reestablish Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in the Yohmor area, located in the Nabatieh district.
In a separate incident earlier in the day, Hezbollah militant Mohammad Abdullah Al-Hadi, a member of the group’s elite Radwan Forces, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the town of Al-Khiam, also in southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Public Health Emergency Operations Center reported that one person was killed when an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle in the Sharabik neighborhood of Yohmor.
These strikes mark a continuation of sporadic hostilities despite a U.S. and French-brokered ceasefire agreement, which has been in effect since November 27, 2024. The ceasefire was intended to end cross-border clashes that escalated during the conflict in Gaza.
The Israeli military maintains that such operations are preemptive actions aimed at neutralizing emerging threats from Hezbollah positions near the border.
