Washington, March 19 (QNA) – The United States Department of State stressed the importance of allowing the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and UN staff to visit the regions of UNRWA operations, including Gaza.
The belief is that they should visit the UNRWA areas of operation, including Gaza, US State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel told reporters Tuesday.
Patel added that the US Department of State will continue to work with Israel to swiftly approve all required visas for the UN and NGOs staff, stating that the freedom of movement for the international staff is a core part of the humanitarian relief operation in Gaza, where residents are on the verge of famine.
