New York, July 28 (QNA) – The Arab League and the United Nations (UN) underscored the great importance of the ongoing high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution at UN headquarters in New York in keeping the two-state solution on the table and opening a serious path to ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state.
This came during a meeting held by Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the conference.
In a statement, the Arab League stated that the two sides discussed the horrific humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip resulting from Israel’s ongoing war of extermination against civilians, and the ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire and end the war.
The statement added that the meeting also addressed the situation in Sudan, Libya, and Syria, as well as developments in the Iranian nuclear file.
