MIRPUR ( AJK): July 31: In the wake of continual crackdown against adulterers and sellers of edibles, a surprise inspection team of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority comprising District Food Controller/Food Safety Officer Syed Adnan Ali Naqvi, Food Authority team (Food Technologist Abdul Jalil, Assistant Food Safety Officers Asif Riaz, Sohail Abbas, Chaudhry Mazhar and supporting staff, inspected various famous hotels and restaurants, ice cream production units and refreshment points of Mirpur city and perished the substandard food items found produced in violations of the standing instructions on the spot and imposed heavy fines to the tune of thousands of rupees here on Thursday, it was officially said.

A Food Authority spokesman told this Correspondent here late Thursday that warning notices were also served to several food business operators found involved on unlawful practice of producing sub standard cooked food itms.

The Food Authority, District Mirpur, warned that no any producer of cooked food and identical edibles at hotels, restaurants and fast food outlets will be allowed to play with the precious lives of the public through supplying poor quality food items besides unhygienic arrangements.
